ABOUT ME

My name is Zakkyya and I am a communications and public relations professional with more than 20 years of experience supporting organizations in sharing their work clearly and thoughtfully.
I'm the founder of Main Street Creative LLC, a Connecticut-based consultancy that supports public, nonprofit, and mission-driven organizations with strategic messaging, media relations, and content development.
My experience spans corporate, nonprofit, education, public-sector, and agency environments. I’ve worked closely with executive leadership and cross-functional teams to shape communications that are clear, aligned, and responsive to both organizational goals and the communities they serve.
In addition to my professional work, I’m deeply committed to community engagement and equity. I serve on the Board of Trustees for the Martin Luther King Scholarship Trust Fund and am actively involved in initiatives that support access, opportunity, and representation. I am also a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., an organization grounded in service and sisterhood.
I bring a thoughtful, collaborative approach to my work, with a focus on clarity and helping organizations communicate in ways that feel aligned, intentional, and reflective of their mission.
